Insomnia, a renowned gaming festival from the UK with a 20-year history spanning over 70 editions, is the largest event of its kind in the UK. In 2018, BME introduced Insomnia to Egypt, marking its debut as the region’s most extensive gaming event. The 2024 edition celebrated the 5th anniversary of Insomnia Egypt, reinforcing its status as Egypt’s biggest gaming festival and the Middle East’s longest-running. It showcased gaming excellence and aimed to surpass all previous editions with a 360-degree festival experience beyond video games.

Featuring top gaming titles, hardware manufacturers, indie developers, local retailers, and live music, the festival exceeded expectations with a prize pool over EGP 2,000,000, the largest of any gaming event in Egypt.
